Financial Accountability

The financial returns from the Livelihoods Program accrues is divided into three sections and goes towards: materials (to continue the businesses and train people), workers, and welfare/Bondeko Center.

One elected leader from each Livelihoods section keeps track of the funds for the group. The Livelihoods Program as a whole then has a monthly meeting where leaders from each section come together to report profits and losses, discuss challenges and successes, and share advice and ideas. It is here that the Director of the Center (Thierry Inongi Pemba) records the monthly income from each of the Livelihoods sections. As the Livelihoods Program works in groups, there is a positive community accountability that takes place, where funds and knowledge of the Program’s undertakings are shared.
